About Yesu Asobola Ministries
Yesu Asobola is a ministry founded early 2013 whose goal is bringing hope to the children of Uganda through care, education and Christ. Yesu Asobola means Jesus is Able in Lugandan, one of the many languages spoken in Uganda.
Yesu Asobola is a Community Based Organization (CBO) located 20 minutes outside of Soroti, Uganda in the Asuret Sub-county and the villages surrounding it. This remote village has hundreds of children who are unable to attend school and many who are orphaned by HIV/AIDS and displaced because of the war (LRA) and is the most vulnerable area in Soroti. The children there are helpless and in need.
Yesu Asobola Ministry is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, governed by a board of directors. All donations are tax exempt.
Our Vision for the Present –
Our vision for these kids is that they would get a good education all through University so that they can have a bright future and change their own lives as well as the lives of their future children and to raise them up knowing God’s ways and serving Him, which is the most important thing. We are working to get sponsors for the children in our ministry to provide them with a good education, medical help, and other physical needs, and we teach them about God and how to serve Him so they will be raised up in the right way.
Our Hopes for the Future –
In the future we want to put a well on Yesu Asobola Ministries land which will not only serve our ministry and the programs we run, but will also serve the surrounding villagers. We hope to open a nursery school for the many young children in our ministry. We would also like to put up additional buildings to the one we currently have – a second one for our Saturday program (and future nursery school) and other buildings to help us as we work towards our goal of becoming a school someday. Right now we are taking things slowly and one step at a time to see where God leads.
We are located in the Asuret sub-county, in the Soroti district of Uganda, Africa, on a beautiful piece of land which was given to Yesu Asobola Ministries by a generous Ugandan donor.
Our Programs –
We currently run two programs –
Saturday Program which allows us to teach 300 village children the Bible, provide a playtime for them, feed them lunch, and hand out gifts when available (so far some of the things we have been able to hand out are – toothbrushes, toothpaste, and clothing).
YAM Sponsorship Program which allows individuals to sponsor a child. The sponsored child is then able to go to school to get a good education, gets help with food, and get monitored for medical needs.
Our Beliefs –
– We believe that the Bible is the true and inspired Word of God.
– We believe in the Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – three in one.
– We believe children are a blessing and have the right to food, shelter, clothing, and a good education.
– We believe in the call to care for orphans and widows in their distress.
